A Solid All-Around Effort with Late-Race Fatigue Stephen posted a 28:13 swim, followed by a quick 3:14 T1, before settling into the bike leg where he averaged roughly 15.9 mph over the course. His bike execution was strongest early on, holding paces near 1418 mph through the first two-thirds before tapering slightly in the closing miles. A brisk 1:50 T2 got him onto the run, where he opened with an encouraging 11:32 first mile before the pace gradually slipped into the 13:0014:00 range over the final miles, finishing the run in 1:21:34. Compared to his 2024 Spudman finish of 2:57:22, this outing came in about 30 minutes slower, driven mainly by the run fade in the back half. The early run speed shows solid fitness, so working on maintaining that intensity deeper into the run could be a great focus for future races.
