Strong Swim Sets the Tone for a Well-Rounded Olympic Debut Lydia Hales crossed the line in 3:11:33 at Spudman's Olympic-distance race, with her swim proving to be the standout leg she ranked 56th among all female competitors, a notable jump ahead of her overall field position. She carried solid momentum onto the bike, holding an average pace of roughly 14.8 mph, including several strong mid-ride segments before settling into a steadier rhythm over the closing miles. Her run rounded out the day with consistent pacing in the 9-10 minute mile range. Compared to her 2024 sprint-distance finish at Spudman, this race marks her step up to the longer Olympic format.
