Powerful Bike Leg Drives a Steady Sprint Debut Samantha Stoddart turned in a well-rounded performance at this year's Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing in 2:09:24. Her standout segment was the bike, where she covered the course at roughly 14.9 mph, climbing as high as 129th overall and 66th among women during the middle miles a clear high point in her race and a sign of strong cycling fitness. The swim and run were solid, workmanlike efforts that rounded out a consistent overall showing, with transitions handled efficiently along the way. Building run speed off the bike could be a fruitful focus for future races, as closing that gap would let her bike strength translate into an even stronger overall finish. A great foundation to build from heading into future Spudman starts.
