Mid-Race Bike Surge Powers Solid Olympic Finish Jared completed the Olympic-distance race in 3:39:44, finishing 57th in the competitive 19-24 age group. His swim brought him out of the water in the mid-1100s overall, and after a swift transition, he found his rhythm on the bike. A standout mid-bike segment saw him climb from 1121st to 373rd overall, hitting a blistering pace that translated to nearly 14.9 mph before settling into a strong overall bike average of about 14.3 mph across the 24.4-mile course. The run proved more challenging, with his overall position settling back into the 1100s by the finish. Splits show a positive push in the middle miles, dropping to 816th overall before fatigue crept in over the closing stretch. With his bike strength clearly an asset, targeted run endurance work could help him hold position deeper into future races.
