Strong Bike Split Fuels a Hard-Fought Olympic Finish Brent Haight completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:37:39, finishing 1107th overall and 30th in the 55-59 age group among 1987 participants. This result trails his previous two Spudman outings 3:10:14 in 2024 and a personal best 2:58:09 in 2025 marking a step back in overall time and placement this year. The bright spot was his bike leg, where he averaged roughly 15.5 mph, climbing as high as 4th in his division during the middle miles before settling into the closing stretch. His swim remained steady and consistent with past performances. The run proved to be the toughest segment, with pacing slowing into the 14-15 minute/mile range over the final miles, pulling down his overall standing. Sharpening run fitness and finishing strong off the bike could help close the gap between his cycling strength and overall race outcome next season.
