Bike Strength Carries Steady Olympic Finish Jacob Yamada completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:01:48, placing 535th overall out of 1,987 finishers and 442nd among men. After a 23:46 swim and quick 4:28 T1, he turned in a strong 1:19:32 bike split, averaging roughly 18.4 mph over the course. A standout mid-ride stretch saw him hold a blistering 2:52/mile pace, briefly climbing into the top 270 overall. The run told a different story. Yamada opened fast with a 10:27 first mile, but his pace steadily slipped to the 11:3911:57 range over the final miles, closing out a 1:11:34 run split. Sharpening his ability to hold pace deeper into the run could help him fully capitalize on the bike fitness he clearly has, turning a solid overall day into an even stronger one.
