Powerful Bike Leg Fuels a Solid Olympic Finish Christian Bennion completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:48:12, placing 281st overall and 25th in the competitive men's 40-44 division. While this trails his personal best of 2:28:07 from the 2024 edition of this race, his bike performance stood out as a clear strength this year. After a steady 21:39 swim and a crisp 2:07 T1, Bennion turned in a bike split averaging roughly 19 mph over the 24-mile course including one standout stretch near mile 14 where he posted the fastest segment time in his entire division. His transitions stayed efficient throughout, with a 2:21 T2. The run told a different story, starting near a 9:28 pace before fading past 11:00 per mile in the closing miles a good focus area for building durability off the bike in future races.
