Strong Late Bike Surge Highlights a Well-Paced Olympic Finish Jocilyn Fugate completed the Olympic Triathlon in 3:22:06, finishing 910th overall out of 1,987 athletes and 34th in her 35-39 division. She started strong with a 23:10 swim, then settled into a bike leg averaging roughly 14.8 mph over the course. Notably, she found another gear late in the ride, posting back-to-back segments near 16.4-16.5 mpha strong surge that pushed her pace well above her overall bike average. Her transitions told an interesting story: T1 took 10:08, while T2 was completed in just 3:49, showing quicker turnover once she got moving on the run. The run itself was remarkably consistent, holding a 10:2210:44 min/mile pace across nearly the entire 10K. That steadiness down the stretch, paired with her closing bike splits, made for a well-rounded overall performance.
