Consistent Pacing Fuels a Strong Age-Group Finish Brian Muir completed the Olympic distance in 2:54:32, placing 389th overall out of 1,987 finishers and 39th in the competitive 40-44 age group. His race featured a smooth 25:16 swim, followed by a bike leg where he averaged close to 19 mph over the course, setting up a 59:20 run to close things out. The bike leg stood out for its strong surge in the middle milesBrian pushed his pace into the low 2:50s per mile for several extended stretches, translating to speeds north of 21 mph, a clear high point in his race. His run then settled into a steady rhythm, holding split paces between 9:13 and 9:35 per mile for most of the course, showing solid endurance after a hard bike effort. Overall, a well-rounded performance with a bike leg that could serve as a real strength to build around going forward.
