Strong Swim Speed Sets the Tone for a Well-Paced Olympic Finish Lisa Black opened her Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, finishing 3rd in her 50-54 division and 34th among all womenan excellent start that carried strong momentum into the bike. She backed that up with a bike leg averaging roughly 17.4 mph, holding a consistent effort across the course and moving through the field efficiently, including a strong middle segment where she posted some of her fastest split paces of the day. The run proved more challenging pace-wise, with her mile splits gradually extending from the 9:11 opening mile toward the 10:0011:00 range by the final miles. Transitions were sharp, especially a brisk T1. Overall, Lisa crossed the line in 2:52:38, placing 6th in her competitive age divisiona race defined by a swim and bike that set up meaningful positioning, with future gains likely available in sustaining run pace deeper into the back half.
