Strong Swim and Bike Set Up a Fading Finish Andrew posted a swift 24:42 swim, holding a solid pace through the current-friendly water before transitioning into a bike leg that averaged roughly 16.8 mph over the 23-mile course. His bike splits were especially strong in the middle miles, moving through the field from 916th to 452nd place overall by the time he dismountedclear evidence of sustained power output on two wheels. The run told a different story. After a swift start, his mile splits steadily slipped from the 11-12 minute range into the 13-14 minute range by the final miles, with his overall position dropping from 452nd to 949th by the finish. For future races, targeting more consistent run pacing off the bikeperhaps through added brick workoutscould help him hold onto the strong positioning he built during the swim and bike legs.
