Strong Swim Sets the Tone, but Late Fade Costs Momentum Shawn opened his Olympic-distance race with a strong swim, finishing in the top third of his division and setting himself up well before transition. T1 and T2 were on the slower side compared to the rest of the field, presenting a clear area to tighten up in future races. On the bike, Shawn settled into a strong rhythm, averaging around 16.2 mph over the 24-mile course and holding a consistent pace through the middle miles. The run started well, with Shawn holding a solid 11:22 pace through the first mile off the bike. However, his pace gradually slipped as the run progressed, dropping to over 13:30 per mile by the final stretch. Shawn should look at run pacing strategy and fueling consistency across the back half of the run to help maintain his early speed all the way to the finish line.
