Swift Swim Sets the Tone for a Balanced Olympic Effort Stephanie Dow opened her race with a standout swim, finishing 89th among women in her wave and showing she's clearly comfortable in the water. That early strength carried into a bike leg where she averaged roughly 16.5 mph, a solid, steady effort over nearly 24 miles of riding. Her transition out of the water took a bit longer than ideal, and shaving time there could help her carry more of that swim momentum directly into the bike. On the run, Stephanie found a strong, consistent rhythm, holding her mile splits tightly together in the 11:0011:15 range through the final stretch. That kind of pacing control late in an Olympic-distance race speaks well to her endurance. Finishing 233rd among women overall, Stephanie's day was defined by a smart swim and a dependable, well-managed run to close things out.
