Strong Swim Sets the Tone, Run Fades Down the Stretch Alex opened his Olympic-distance day with a standout swim, clocking 21:58 to sit inside the top 25% of the entire field exiting the water. That momentum cooled a bit in T1, where a 6:44 transition dropped him back into the pack before he found his rhythm on the bike, averaging roughly 15.5 mph across the course. The bike leg showed some fade in the closing miles, with pace slipping noticeably over the final stretch before rolling into a brisk 3:36 T2. The run started promising, with an opening mile near 10:15, but the pace steadily eased toward the 12:0012:45 range over the remaining miles, settling in for a 1:14:37 split. Alex crossed the line in 3:25:10, placing 50th in a competitive 19-24 age group. Sharpening bike-to-run steadiness and tightening transition times could translate his excellent swim speed into an even stronger overall result next time out.
