A Slower Return to Familiar Roads Brian Grimm returned to the Spudman Sprint Triathlon in Blackfoot's backyard and turned in a solid, if slightly slower, performance compared to his previous outing on this course. He finished in the top half of a 570-athlete field, placing 263rd overall and 136th among men, with his best relative segment coming on the bike, where he averaged roughly 15.3 mph and moved up through the field, climbing from 217th to 138th overall by the midway point of the ride. Compared to his 2025 Spudman result, this year's finish came in about 13 minutes slower, with corresponding drops in overall and gender placement. The swim and transitions were steady, but the run split cost him ground relative to last year's pace. With a strong bike leg already in his toolkit, sharpening the run could be the next step toward closing that gap and matching or beating his prior Spudman performance.
