Run Surge Fuels a Strong Finish Boe opened with a steady 19:31 swim before settling into a bike leg that averaged nearly 16.9 mph over the course, a solid pace that moved him up through the field. His T1 ran a bit long at 7:23, an area worth tightening up before the next race, but his second transition was crisp at just 1:41. The real story was the run. Boe turned in a blistering opening run split, clocking a 7:21/mile pace that ranked 2nd in his age division for that stretch and helped him climb from outside the top 100 into the top 40 overall. He held strong finishing paces around 7:157:54/mile the rest of the way, ultimately placing 7th in the 1-19 Male division. A fast, consistent run off the bike like this is a great sign of developing endurance and race execution.
