Strong Bike Split Powers a Top-15% Finish Reed completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:48:35, placing 293rd overall and 31st in the Elite Men division among 1,987 finishers. His bike leg stood out, covering the course at roughly 19.2 mph, which moved him into the top 250 riders on the day. A steady swim and quick transitions rounded out a solid front half of the race. Compared to his 2024 Spudman result (2:39:31, 450th of 1,992), Reed's overall time was slower this year, but his percentile finish actually improvedmoving from roughly the top 23% of the field to the top 15%. The run told a mixed story: an early mile split of 9:25 gradually slipped past 10:30 by mile 30, pointing to an opportunity to work on maintaining run pace deeper into the back half of future races.
