Strong Bike Leg Fuels Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Samuel Stratford completed the Olympic distance in 3:02:48, anchored by a standout bike leg. Averaging roughly 16.9 mph over the 24.4-mile ride, he climbed as high as 17th in his 25-29 age group during the middle bike splits, showcasing strong sustained power on two wheels. His swim was efficient as well, exiting the water in 22:51 and moving up over 800 overall positions from the start. The run proved to be the area where ground was given back, with a final 10K pace settling into the 10:50-11:00/mile range, gradually slipping from a mid-race high of 300th overall to a 461st place finish among men. Transitions were crisp, with T1 and T2 combined under six minutes.
