Strong Swim Sets the Tone in a Determined All-Around Effort Taryn opened with a standout swim, clocking 20:11 for the 0.86-mile Snake River leg and landing in the top 30 among female finishersan excellent start that carried early momentum into transition. On the bike, she maintained a steady rhythm across the 24.4-mile course, averaging roughly 17.3 mph and holding top-50 female splits through several checkpoints, showing consistent power output over the ride's full distance. The run proved more of a grind, with per-mile paces gradually easing from the 9:42 opening mile to the 11:03 range late in the course, ultimately closing out a well-rounded Olympic-distance finish. Compared to her 2023 Spudman result (2:29:30, 177th overall), this trip through the course came in at 2:57:41, 451st overall. The swim and bike phases remain clear strengthsdialing in more consistent run pacing, particularly holding pace through the back half, looks like the clearest path to closing that gap next time out.
