Powerful Bike Leg Anchors a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Tyler completed the Olympic-distance race in 2:59:05, placing 475th overall out of 1,987 finishers and 28th in the competitive men's 25-29 division. He exited the water after a 0.86-mile swim in 22:32, good enough for a top-40 position in his age group, then moved efficiently through T1 in just 2:31 to maintain momentum onto the bike course. The bike was Tylers standout segment, covering roughly 24.4 miles in 1:21:41 an average of nearly 18 mph which briefly moved him into the top 10 of his division mid-ride. His run, spanning about 6.2 miles in 1:10:10, opened strong with sub-10-minute miles before gradually slowing into the 1116 minute range over the closing stretch. Building more consistent run pacing in the later miles could help him convert that strong bike position into an even higher overall finish next time.
