A Steady Effort with a Strong Finishing Kick Megan Lancaster completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:47:49, finishing 320th among women. She came out of the Snake River swim in the top third of the field, showing strong open-water form before settling into transitions. On the bike, she averaged roughly 14.5 mph across the 24-mile course, with her early miles trending faster (near 13.6 mph pace) before easing slightly in the back half. The run leg told a story of gradual fade and recovery early miles near 12:23 gave way to a tougher middle stretch around 14:4415:09 pace, before Megan closed with a notable final kick, covering the last tenth of a mile at a 4:56 pace. Compared to her 2025 Spudman finish of 3:37:25, this year's time was about ten minutes slower, though her overall and gender placements actually improved slightly. A strong swim and solid bike split remain clear strengths to build from.
