A Strong Mid-Race Surge Highlights a Determined First Spudman Caden Lancaster completed the Sprint Triathlon in 2:23:21, finishing 186th out of 570 men. His swim came in at 24:50, followed by a smooth T1 of 6:30 before heading onto the bike course, where he averaged roughly 8.8 mph over the 11.3-mile ride. His strongest stretch came early on the bike, where he climbed as high as 20th in his division before settling into the pack by the bike's end. The run proved to be a story of two halves Caden opened fast, clocking a blistering 4:44/mile pace right off the bike, before settling into a steadier 9:53/mile pace for the remainder of the 5K. Managing that opening speed more evenly could help him sustain performance across the whole run. Overall, a solid showing with clear signs of untapped potential on both the bike and run legs.
