Steady Bike Power Fuels a Consistent Olympic-Distance Finish Kenneth Matthews crossed the line in 2:53:26, good for 371st overall and 313th among men in a field of nearly 2,000 finishers at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon. His overall placement (371st) and gender rank (313th) closely mirrored his 2025 result (372nd overall, 314th male), showing solid consistency in his competitive positioning even as his finishing time was a bit slower than his last two Spudman appearances (2:40:04 in 2024 and 2:40:14 in 2025). The bike leg was a highlight, covering just over 24 miles in 1:25:11 an average of roughly 17.2 mph helping him move into the top 300 overall through T2. His swim (23:37) was efficient and set up a smooth transition. The run split (1:00:56) was the area where time slipped compared to prior years, suggesting some room to sharpen off-the-bike run pacing for future races.
