Steady Effort Across All Three Disciplines Highlights a Strong Olympic-Distance Finish Kent Packer completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:08:28, finishing 9th in the competitive 65-69 Solo Male division. His swim split of 24:34 placed him 8th in his age group early on, setting a solid foundation for the race. Kent maintained that momentum through the bike leg, averaging just under 18 mph over the course, which helped him hold a top-10 position in his division for most of the race. The run proved to be a tougher stretch, with his pace gradually settling into the 13-14 minute/mile range, slightly slowing his position from 7th to 9th in his age group by the finish. Given his strong bike segment, Kent may find value in incorporating some run-specific endurance work off the bike to help sustain pace deeper into the run leg. Overall, a well-rounded performance with a strong bike leg as the standout highlight.
