Blistering Bike and Run Splits Power a Top-15 Overall Finish Canyon Fry turned in a strong all-around performance at this year's Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing 12th overall out of 570 athletes and 2nd in the competitive Men's 20-29 division. After a steady swim, Fry hit his stride on the bike, averaging roughly 18.7 mph over the course and climbing from 178th to 44th place by T2 a jump of well over 100 spots. That bike split alone ranked among the fastest in his age group. The momentum carried into the run, where Fry posted a blazing pace, ultimately covering the final 3.1-mile run split at about 7:04 per mile. He moved up from 39th to 12th overall during the run leg, showing excellent closing speed. With smooth transitions (T1: 3:09, T2: 1:37) and negative splits across the bike-to-run transition, Fry's race reflected sharp pacing and strong late-race execution.
