Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Cameron Cook #6057 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Swim Leads to a Well-Paced Olympic Finish Cameron Cook opened his Olympic-distance day with a strong swim, finishing in the top 25% of the field (483rd overall, 364th among men) after covering the course in 22:34. He carried that momentum into T1, transitioning in 6:19, before settling into a bike leg that averaged roughly 14.6 mph over the 24.4-mile course, holding a consistent gender rank in the 500s through several splits. The run leg proved the most challenging stretch, with Cameron settling into a pace in the high-16 to 18-minute-per-mile range across the 6.2-mile course, gradually slipping in the standings from 794th to 953rd among men by the finish. He crossed the line in 4:02:11, placing 1330th overall out of 1987 finishers and 18th in the U40 Clydesdale division. A faster T2 (5:21) suggests good transition efficiency could be a focus area to build on for future pacing strategy on the run.
