Bike Strength Fuels Best-Ever Division Finish Joshua Head turned in his most complete Spudman Olympic performance yet, anchored by a bike leg that averaged roughly 19 mph despite rolling elevation changes through the mid-to-late miles. That split moved him into the top 150 overall on the course and set up a strong transition into the run. His swim was steady and consistent with his typical pace in this race, and he exited T1 in solid position among his division. While his overall time of 2:46:03 was a bit slower than his previous three Spudman finishes, Joshua's results tell a different story where it counts most: he climbed to 3rd in the U40 Clydesdale division, his best finish in four Spudman appearances. The run leg cooled slightly compared to his bike pace, suggesting an area to sharpen for future races, but the overall trajectory of stronger biking and improved division standing marks clear progress.
