Fast Start in the Water Fuels a Steady Olympic-Distance Finish Stephen Fredrick opened his day with a standout swim, exiting the Snake River in 14:50 good for 3rd overall and 2nd in his division out of nearly 2,000 athletes. A swift transition followed, ranking 1st in his age group, setting up a strong ride through the bike course at an average of roughly 18.1 mph. The run proved more of a grind, with early miles holding near 10:30 pace before settling into the 11:3011:48 range through the back half. A late surge brought him home with a final mile near 9:25 pace before crossing the line in 2:51:50. Overall, Fredrick finished 289th among men and 20th in the 25-29 division a race defined by an elite swim leg and a bike split that kept him well positioned into the run.
