Strong Bike Surge Fuels a Steady Olympic Finish Zachary Tyler crossed the line in 4:12:56 at the Olympic-distance event, opening with a 32:13 swim before heading out on the bike. That leg proved to be his standout segmenthe climbed from 998th to as high as 627th overall at one point, averaging roughly 14.3 mph across the 24.4-mile course despite some rolling terrain. The run told a different story. After a promising opening mile at a 13:19 pace, his effort gradually slowed to over 16 minutes per mile in the closing stretch, settling him into 979th among men and 135th in the 35-39 division. Still, the bike performance stands out as a clear strength, and tightening up the back half of the run could be a strong focus for his next race.
