Runner-Up Finish Highlights a Powerful All-Around Performance This year's race marked another strong showing, finishing 2nd in the 19-24 age group and 18th overall among the men. The bike leg stood out as a clear strength, averaging roughly 23.4 mph and moving up through the field significantly during that segment. The run leg was steady and well-paced, holding position in the top 20 through the finish. Compared to previous Spudman appearances, this result marks the second-fastest finish, trailing only the breakout 2024 performance by about eight minutes. It's a clear improvement over both the 2025 and 2023 races, showing consistent progress in the overall approach to the event. The bike splits in particular showed strong sustained power, and continuing to build run speed off the bike could help close the gap to that 2024 personal best even further.
