Strong Bike Split Fuels Steady Olympic-Distance Finish Ty Dowdle completed the Olympic-distance race in 2:29:03, finishing 65th overall and 6th in the competitive 19-24 age group. His swim came in at 24:50, and he moved through T1 in 2:47 before launching into a bike leg that stood out as the highlight of his day. Covering the bike course at an average speed of roughly 20.0 mph, Ty steadily climbed the fieldjumping from 96th place early in the ride to 84th by its later stages, a clear sign of strong, consistent power on two wheels. After a quick 1:26 T2, Ty settled into the run, splitting 28:19 for the first 3.42 miles before picking up the pace to 15:21 over the next 1.89 milesa negative split that reflects solid pacing discipline late in the race. Compared to his 2024 Spudman finish of 2:13:52, this year's time was slower, suggesting the swim and run legs may be areas to sharpen going forward. Still, the bike performance shows real strength to build around for future races.
