Steady Performance with Strong Mid-Race Sections Morgan Tuohy completed the 2026 Twisted Fork Ultra 30K with a solid time of 2:29:59, maintaining an average pace of 8:12 min/mile. Noteworthy was the mid-race surge from 4.57 to 13.94 miles where he consistently improved his placement, advancing from 25th to 19th overall. Each split displayed strategic pacing, particularly strong efforts noted from Kimball Creek (6:26 pace) and Glenwild Aid Station (6:38 pace). His effective pacing at these segments contributed to holding a solid position in the upper half of participants. In the latter section, Morgan experienced slight deceleration on the extended climbs, notably around Moose Hill Rd and the end of the Flying Dog Segment, where the paces registered at 8:33 and 10:24 min/mile respectively. Despite this challenging segment, he demonstrated strong recovery with sub-8:00 paces towards the finish, showing resilience and effective energy management in the final miles. Practice on varied elevation profiles could further enhance this aspect of Morgan's performance. Great effort overall!
