Strong Start and Consistent Pace Maintain Top Placement Josef Gertner exhibited impressive consistency in the 2026 Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon, securing a final elapsed time of 1:13:47. His average pace was a steady 5:37 min/mile, demonstrating his ability to maintain speed throughout the race. Notably, Josef alternated between the first and fourth place overall and gender spots after the initial miles before securely holding the fourth position overall. His strategic pacing culminated in a remarkable first-place finish in his division (M30-34). Josef showed an exceptional burst in the second half of the race, particularly with mile splits of 5:17 and 5:23, enhancing his overall performance.
