Consistent Early Pace with a Strategic Finish Team McElliotts maintained a steady pace in the 2026 Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon Relay. Starting strong, they held consistent splits from the first mile at 7:33 to the third mile at 7:31. This admirable consistency placed them within the top ten overall and kept their position stable. The team reached 5 miles with strong pacing, losing only two overall positions. While their early miles showed a competitive edge, Team McElliotts encountered a small slowdown between miles 5 and 7, with paces slowing progressively from 7:48 to 9:24. This affected their overall position, moving to 17th overall by the 12th mile.
