Remarkable Consistency and Division Success Bing Ren, a member of the TORCH team from Vancouver, WA, completed the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon in 1:45:16, maintaining an impressive pace of 8:02 min/mile. As one of the leading competitors in the M60-64 division, Bing started strong with the initial mile at 8:19 and improved significantly, achieving his fastest split in the ninth mile with a pace of 7:17. Bing consistently held onto top three positions early, moving from first to second place in his division until the sixth mile. By the end, he secured third in his age category. Bing displayed a strong mid-race recovery, particularly notable between miles 9 to 13, where his pace remained under 7:50, highlighting effective pacing strategy. Maintaining this pace until the end could help strengthen the overall performance. Keeping focus on the earlier miles can help to avoid the minor pace drop in the eighth mile, ensuring even more consistency throughout future races.
