Consistent Pacing with Strategic Splits Alejandro maintained a consistent pace throughout the 8K race, demonstrating steady performance. The first mile was completed at a 6:33 min/mile pace. Alejandro made strategic adjustments, accelerating to a 6:19 min/mile pace in the second mile. This strategic pacing contributed to a significant improvement in position, particularly within the Male 40-44 division, where his standing initially wavered but settled in the top ten at the third mile. Despite slight deceleration in the third mile with a 6:42 split time, Alejandro showed resilience, finishing with an overall pace of 6:29 min/mile. The result was impressive, particularly against 5,185 participants. Ending in the top 3% of all participants, Alejandro placed 11th in his division and maintained a position in the top 2% across gender. Future focus on sustaining the momentum observed between the first and second miles could further enhance overall performance in subsequent races.
