Consistent Pacing with Steady Improvement Blake Nygren showed a commendable performance in the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon by consistently maintaining a steady pace throughout the race. Starting strong with a 9:13 min/mile in the first mile, Blake demonstrated an impressive comeback after the second mile's slower pace of 10:33 min/mile, significantly picking up the pace in the third mile to 6:15 min/mile, which was his fastest split. Over the course of the race, Blake maintained a consistent pace within the 8:00 to 9:00 min/mile range. Maintaining an average pace of 8:34 min/mile, Blake completed the 13.1-mile course in 1:52:21. Noteworthy was his consistent placement mid-race, spending much of the time hovering around the top 20% of his division. Endurance at miles 12 and 13 was particularly effective, with paces of 8:11 and 8:04, respectively. Future focus could be on early mile paces and maintaining the impressive speed seen in mile three.
