Steady Start with Late Slowdown Brent Stewart from Portland, OR, maintained a steady start in his recent half marathon, clocking consistent split times of just over 8 minutes per mile for the first 5 miles. His paces ranged from 8:25 min/mile to 8:06 min/mile, showing promising consistency and control early in the race. By mile 5, his pace slightly increased to 8:19 min/mile, a crucial phase indicating the onset of fatigue. In the latter stages, Brent's pace began to decline notably, increasing to 12:08 min/mile in mile 7. He finished with an overall time of 2:00:30 and an average pace of 9:11 min/mile. His final placement in the Male 40-44 division was 123rd out of 4421 participants.
