Pacing Peaks and Troughs with Strong Start Eric Woodruff showed consistency over the 13.1-mile course, with fluctuations in pace but a determined finish. The race began with a promising first mile at a 10:51 min/mile pace, improving in the second mile by 30 seconds. However, miles 5 through 8 saw a slowing in pace, reaching the slowest split at 13:37 min/mile in mile 8. Despite this, Eric managed to maintain a solid average pace of 11:34 min/mile throughout the half marathon. Notably, there was recovery in mile 10, where the pace briefly improved to 11:03 min/mile. Eric's final result placed him 1982nd out of the male participants and 152nd in his division, M45-49. Staying steady in the top half for the initial miles is commendable; sustaining this momentum into later stages could be a focus area. Keep leveraging those early strengths and consider strategies for maintaining pace in the mid-to-late segments of the race. Great effort, Eric!
