Consistent Effort Despite Fluctuations During the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon, Ben Cannon showcased notable pacing capabilities, completing the race in 1:41:35 at an average pace of 7:45 min/mile. Starting strong with a first-mile pace of 7:38, Ben experienced some variability, notably slowing to a 9:25 pace in the second mile, but quickly recovering in the third mile with an impressive 5:41 pace. This demonstrates Ben's ability to adapt and push through early race fluctuations. Ben maintained a steady pace throughout the majority of the race, with remarkable consistency between miles four and thirteen, averaging between 7:21 and 8:08. Despite some positional shifts, such as regaining position after moving to 607th overall after the second mile, Ben showed resilience by improving his overall placement, completing the race 442nd out of 4421 participants. Continuing to focus on sustaining targeted paces between faster and slower splits could enhance future race performance.
