Consistent Progression in the Middle Stages Leads to Strong Finish William Fong showcased consistent pacing, culminating in a solid finish at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest presented by Toyota Half Marathon. Starting with a conservative first mile at a 10:15 pace, he improved his speed substantially in the latter half of the race. By mile 5, William accelerated significantly to record an 8:24 pace, and continued to improve, hitting a swift 7:53 pace in the final mile. An aggregate time of 2:00:55 for the 13.1-mile race translates to a commendable pace of 9:13 min/mile. A noteworthy detail in William's performance is his ability to regain pacing rhythm after the slight challenge at mile 8 with an 11:02 split. This adaptability contributed to his better rankings, ultimately placing 194th in the M35-39 division out of 4421 participants.
