Consistent Start with Strong Finish Travis Wong demonstrated impressive pacing early on at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. Starting with a 7:34 min/mile pace, Travis held a top third placement in his division, M20-24, for the first three miles. His initial split times showed remarkable consistency with mile 2 clocking in at 7:30 min/mile and mile 3 at 7:56 min/mile, maintaining a consistent place around the mid-20s in his division. As the race progressed, Travis encountered slight decreases in pace, extending to a 9:46 min/mile at mile 8, resulting in a placement drop to 66th in his division. Notably, Travis rebounded with an impactful 7:55 min/mile at mile 10, helping him secure an overall time of 1:48:46. Finishing with an excellent pace of 8:18 min/mile, Travis delivered a strong performance, maintaining a top section finish in a competitive field of over 4,400 participants. Maintaining focus on mid-race consistency could provide an even stronger performance.
