Progressive Pacing with a Dynamic Middle Section Katelyn demonstrated a resilient performance at the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest. Her pacing started at 9:47 min/mile and showed notable progress by Mile 2 with an impressive 8:48 min/mile, setting her apart as 11th in her division at Mile 3. The middle miles, particularly between distances of 3 and 6, were steady, maintaining a pace close to 9:30 min/mile. However, times between Miles 6 and 8 showed a substantial slowdown, with Mile 8 at a 12:33 min/mile pace. Despite this, she consistently stayed within the top half for her gender and division. Katelyn effectively rebounded after Mile 8, regaining a faster pace nearing the finish. Her consistent improvement in the latter part of the race, including a 9:10 min/mile at Mile 10, indicates strong recovery capabilities and endurance. Closing with a total time of 2:09:31 and an overall rank of 2188 out of 4421, focusing on maintaining a steadier pace in the later stages could enhance future race results.
