Strong Finish with Impressive Splits Bill Geneczko from Portland, OR, impressively completed the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest's Half Marathon, achieving a solid elapsed time of 1:39:13. Representing the Bend Over Run Club, Bill maintained a consistent average pace of 7:34 min/mile over the 13.1-mile distance. Notably, he secured a commendable 56th place in the M35-39 division, amidst a competitive field of 4421 participants. Bill's pacing strategy was particularly effective towards the latter part of the race. While his initial mile was clocked at 7:54 min/mile, he upped his pace significantly in the closing miles, with his final mile split recorded at an impressive 6:53 min/mile. Sustaining consistency, especially during the latter stages, is admirable. Fine-tuning mid-race pacing could further enhance future performances. Great job, Bill!
