Steady Start and Strong Finish Despite a Mid-Race Challenge Ruben Vidal began the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon at an encouraging pace, with a notable first split of 10:30 min/mile. Impressively, his speed consistently increased through the early kilometers, with his fastest split recorded at mile 5, clocking 9:26 min/mile. Maintaining momentum, Ruben's early position of 46th in the M25-29 division for the initial half showed promising form. The latter half presented challenges, evident with a pace drop during mile 11 to 17:10 min/mile, which affected overall position standings to 393rd in his division. Finishing with an overall time of 2:22:24, Ruben's final pace was maintained at 10:52 min/mile. Focusing on consistency in the split paces and addressing the variance in pace can aid him in future events. Working on sustained pace consistency will be key in advancing placement and performance.
