Consistency and Determination Shine Through Matthew Maas displayed a strong performance in the Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon. Battling through a field of 4,421 competitors, he maintained consistent pace through the early miles, with impressive splits at miles 4 and 5, recording 7:55 and 7:50 minutes per mile respectively. Although there was a slight dip in pace at miles 6 and 7, his overall consistent pace of 8:12 per mile ensured a solid finish with a final time of 1:47:33. Throughout the race, Matthew moved steadily, showing great endurance. In the M45-49 category, he maintained a respectable mid-pack position, finishing 43rd. His strategic push in the final mile with a split time of 7:46 showcased his stamina and race strategy. Improving consistency in the mid-segments can further enhance overall performance. A commendable accomplishment, reflecting dedication and preparation, backed by the support of the Rock Creek Run Club.
