Consistent Start, Slower Finish with Opportunity for Strategic Pacing Allen Wei demonstrated a steady start during the 2026 Shamrock Run Fest Half Marathon with a notable improvement in pace after the first mile. He hit a peak performance at mile 5 with a split pace of 9:05 min/mile, which highlights his potential for maintaining a strong average pace. At the beginning, Allen moved from 1,509th to 1,060th overall, reflecting a solid strategic start and gaining ground on the competition. In the latter half, a gradual decline in pace was observed, particularly from mile 8 onwards where the splits increased to over 11 min/mile. The slower miles impacted his final standing, where adjustments might be made in future races for pacing in the latter stages. The overall elapsed time of 2:18:13 and an average pace of 10:33 min/mile show room for pacing adjustment. Joining Allen made me do it as part of a team could be beneficial for motivation to maintain a steady pace.
