Notably, Jacob hit his fastest mile splits between miles 4 and 5 with times of 10:42 and 10:28, respectively. This consistent improvement during these miles is noteworthy as it suggests a strategic approach to pacing. His overall time was 2:33:11, averaging an 11:41 min/mile pace. This placed him in the top half of the male participants for the event. After the strong middle section, it is worth examining the latter half of the race as the pace slightly decreased.
