Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Cole maintained a steady pace throughout the 13.1 miles, achieving an impressive average pace of 6:47 min/mile. Notably, he started with a split pace of 6:49 min/mile for the first mile. The split of 6:35 at mile 5 was particularly strong, indicating a boost in speed at that point. The most significant improvement came during the 9th mile with a split time of 6:27, a commendable display of acceleration in the latter stages of the race. The final push in the last mile with a 6:42 split time ensured Cole completed the race in a commendable time of 1:29:04. His overall rank improved during the race, as he moved up from 95th overall in the first mile to finishing 111th among 4421 participants. With a 19th place finish in his division, Cole's performance in the M25-29 category was solid. Effective pacing and well-timed surges contributed positively to the overall result.
