Consistent Early Drive with Strong Divisional Performance Felipe started the 5K with an impressive first mile split of 8:30, which positioned him 2nd in his age division, 322nd in his gender, and 432nd overall. At the second mile, Felipe slightly increased his pace to 8:21 min/mile, moving him to 1st in his division. This split was his fastest, showing effective pacing strategy, allowing him to advance in the standings significantly. Felipe completed the race with a total time of 26:25 and maintained a consistent overall pace of 8:31 min/mile. Despite a minor slow down in the final mile to 8:42, Felipe secured 2nd place in the M70-74 division, an achievement to be proud of. His performance amid 6521 participants was commendable, and being part of the Terwilliger Track Club, he showcased a strong representation. Maintaining even pace consistency in the final mile could be beneficial for future races.
